We recently took a trip to Pasadena to see astrophysicist Neal DeGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye The Science Guy, along with the always elegant and gorgeous Nichelle Nichols, at The Planetary Society’s 35th Anniversary Celebration. As we were walking around Old Town just prior to this stellar event, I was reminded of all the out-of-this-world teas at Chado Tea Room. The problem with Chado teas is that they are SO tasty, I usually end up finishing them off before I have a chance to take photos and write about them. Occupational hazard, I guess. 🙂 Luckily, I was able to get some pics of Chado’s Lemon Chiffon Tea before we drank it all, which was no easy feat. This tea is *almost* addicting!
Chado Lemon Chiffon Tea is so wonderfully aromatic that brewing just a cup is enough to fill the entire room with its soothing aroma. This is particularly helpful for easing tense situations, providing relief in times of emotional stress, or even just relaxing after a long day at work. In fact, it had also become a pre-work drink for a while, and helped set the tone for a slightly more mellow day. Lemon Chiffon might not make your problems go away, but the combination of lemon and lavender helps create a few moments of calm, peaceful respite for frayed nerves.
The flavor is very complex, and doesn’t even need sugar due to its slight natural sweetness. I normally don’t like rooibos-based teas, or flavored teas, but Lemon Chiffon is an exception to that rule. Lemon Chiffon is also an exceptionally pretty tea. The colors are just so vibrant, and stay that way even after brewing. It also retains a lot of flavor when the leaves are re-steeped. So if you are looking for a tea that is soothing for the body and the soul, I highly recommend trying Lemon Chiffon from Chado!
